SUMMARY

The idea of spending more time alone may sound completely unrealistic or unachievable - especially as a busy and exhausted educator, but what may seem to be the most challenging task of spending more time alone may very well be one of the most important tasks to your overall mental wellness.

In this episode I break down the importance of carving out some time just for you even if you are spending the majority of your weekdays with students and other colleagues in your schools/campuses. I also explore some creative ways to consistently incorporate more time to yourself.

The Balanced Black Educator podcast is a conversation with Dr. Siobhan D. Flowers about all things at the intersection of education and mental wellness for Black educators from K12 to Higher Ed.
