SUMMARY
So when you think about all of the things that can collectively lead to burnout, I think we are quick to think about the physical toll in terms of exhaustion or fatigue, but you also have to focus on the emotional and mental factors that can lead to burnout.
There is a real connection between our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and outcomes so in this episode I focus just a bit on the mental aspect of this which mostly lies with our thoughts and how having more realistic expectations of ourselves and others creates more space for compassion during difficult times.
The Balanced Black Educator podcast is a conversation with Dr. Siobhan D. Flowers about all things at the intersection of education and mental wellness for Black educators from K12 to Higher Ed.
